Clarence Lee Shumate, 83, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday Feb. 10, 2010 at his residence.
He was a native of Hardin County and retired building inspector for the city of Elizabethtown where he worked for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kirby and Mary Geneva Hobbs Shumate; one brother, Pal Shumate; and one sister, Bertha Ozella Hendren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Addie Lee Johnson Shumate of Elizabethtown; two sons, Tony (Laura) Shumate of Elizabethtown and Barry (Teresa) Shumate of Upton; two granddaughters, Amy Shumate of Louisiville and Teri Thomas of Elizabethtown.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home with Arlie Bradley officiating.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
